The U.S. Department of the Interior's Minerals Management Service announced at 10 a.m. today that it has received 1,188 bids on 794 tracts offered in the Central Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 169.

Lease Sale 169 will take place tomorrow, March 18, 1998, at 9 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 500 Poydras Plaza, New Orleans, Louisiana.
MMS is the Federal Agency that manages the Nations oil and gas and other mineral resources on the OCS and collects, accounts for, and disburses about $6 billion yearly in revenues from Federal offshore leases and Federal and Indian onshore mineral leases.
